Coming off an impressive win last week, the 3-0 Lions looked for another victory versus the new look Raptors. Well new except the same old toilet bowl perched atop Mal“My face is a puck magnet”Turner. It was Turner who had the first laugh as he weaved and bobbed like a professional masseuse and tucked one past a sprawling Mario“ Beautiful Lake”Beaulac. The Lions answered on an unassisted effort from Brad“Monica”Dolinsky and that’s how the first period would end.

The Lions came out on fire in the second stanza and scored 2 goals. One from league leading Robin“ I don’t miss my brother”Ripley and the other from rookie of the year candidate Ryan”Big Daddy“ Haynes on a nice set up from the leagues multi- talented, multi-colored, multi-sexual Roman McNamara. In what should have been a walk away period for the Lions only 2 goals was not indicative of their efforts.

Head referee Steve“If I don’t get calls against me no one does”Clark decided that anyone (Paas) over 6 ft 2’(Paas) and 210 pounds (Paas) is not ever going to have a penalty called in his favor. The Raptors were privy to this rule and Paas had more bodies draped all over him than a Buy 1 get 5 free- Soapy Soapy night in the Kok. If that wasn’t enough to slow him down, the Home Hardware Lumber show made sure he wasn’t getting near their net. Clark was quoted as saying“Just fight them off Paas, like I do.”

The Lions then couldn’t capitalize on a power play after Marcus“I am never gonna hit anyone who is looking”Maidement was off for…..yes you guessed it boarding. So the second ended Lions 3 Raptors 1.

The 3 rd period once again saw Malanoma Turner skate around the ice-capade defense of the Lions and tap one in on Beautiful Lake. The Lions answered right back on a goal from Ripley, assisted by Paas and Haynes and looked to have their 4 th win in the books. But the crafty Raptors took a time out, pulled their goalies in a big circle and then pulled their goalie. The move worked as they managed to pinball a point shot in off of three shin pads, a stick, and Steve Clark who was holding Paas’stick.

So off to the shootout where the tenders looked great and the only goal was scored by Murray“Tron”Richardson, to seal the come from behind (like they like to do) Raptors.
